Support

If something is not working as you'd expect or you've got a query check out the following questions and answers.

Can't see your particular issue? Email us as support@RedHotCat.com and one of our team will be in touch.

Q1. Can I still use iTunes?

Yes.

Q2. How do I know the software is working?

Start up Windows Media Player and click on the Sync tab, when you connect your iPod you should see the Eject button and a list of the music contained on your iPod.

Q3. Why hasn't SyncAudio copied all of my music?

There are a couple of potential reasons
a) SyncAudio only copies MP3s and will skip music not in this format
b) If the music cannot be found - music can be listed in Windows Media Player that cannot be sync'd or played because the MP3 files are no longer available.

Q4. I don't see the Eject button on the Sync tab

Check SyncAudio is running by clicking on the Tools menu in Windows Media Player, select Plug-ins, and the sub menu will show Red Hot Cat SyncAudio Plugin. If it does not have a tick mark next to it click on it to enable the plug-in.

Q5. Why do I need to activate the software?

We ask that you activate the software for a couple of reasons ...
a) So we can contact you with details of updates
b) To continue adding new features requires money to pay for the caffeinated beverages consumed during coding new features :-)

Q6. How does the activeation process work?

Warning: some of this is a bit technical, and we'd rather tell you what we're doing, rather than you not knowing or being concerned.

When you buy the SyncAudio software you'll receive an email containing a product key unique to you. To activate the software you'll be prompted to enter this product key. You can do this either when you're installing it, or if you're using it in Demo Mode, then you also have the option to enter the product key in the startup screen and then click on the Activate button.

When you click on the Activate button another unique key that identifies your computer is sent with the product key to the Red Hot Cat web server where it is encrypted and saved in a database with your email address. The web server then sends an unlock key to activate your copy of the software. No more screens asking you to activate while you're synching your MP3s.

Please note that product keys are unique to each copy of the software purchased. They can only be used on one computer, once used, they'll only work on that computer.
